FAQ

What do hand therapists treat?

A hand therapist is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who, through advanced study and experience, specializes in treating individuals with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremity. A qualified hand therapist can evaluate and treat any problem related to the upper extremity.

I had surgery on my hand/wrist/finger and my hand/wrist/finger is still swollen. Is this normal?

Edema is normal after a hand injury and especially after surgery and can last and fluctuate for up to 6 months. Keeping your hand elevated and moving your fingers to promote circulation will help.
